In a recent report by WMPowerUser.com, Nokia Germany has started the official market release of the 720 last 15 April. Both the 720 and Lumia 520 were launched in the Moblie World Congress (MWC) held in Barcelona, Spain as reported by CNet Germany.

Operating System and Processor
The Nokia Lumia 720 runs on the Windows 8 OS, the latest operating system from Microsoft. It also has a Qualcomm dual-core 1GHz processor, which is perfect for loading heavy applications. Nokia has been lagging behind in terms of having a competitive OS in comparison to the iOS and Android. According to Maxxor.com, Nokia only has an 8% market share in Germany as compared to the 35% of iOS and 29% of Android. With apps being developed by many websites like social media leaders Facebook and Instagram, and with others still developing better mobile access to their services like online gaming hub
partycasino.com and others, the Windows 8 OS has a lot of bases to cover to really impress smartphone audiences.

Applications
Considering recent EU5 (UK, France, Germany, Italy, and Spain) demographics by Ciklum.com, a European IT resource expert, wherein “73 million occasionally play mobile games (ranging from poker to other social games) on their devices and 18 million users play mobile games on a daily basis,” apps are now the measure of whether smartphones perform at par. Online gaming apps ranging from simple casino or poker games, to classic RPGs from the Final Fantasy series, are just some of the iOS and Android downloadables that would test the mettle of a smartphone’s capabilities. According to CNET, “The bundled Nokia (Lumia 720) apps are great, but it doesn’t really offer enough over the Lumia 620, which costs half as much.” Despite the limited apps, the built-in Internet Explorer can be used especially for online games like partycasino which has made mobile access to their browser games more easily accessible.

Form and Design
The Lumia 720 is considered to be the slimmest uni-body polycarbonate shell phone today. The phone has a removable “shell” which users can customize. According to CNET Germany, “720 has a 4.3-inch ClearBlack display with a resolution of 800×480 pixels.”

Features
Further reported by the Deutschland CNET, “Like the Lumia 920 and Nokia 820, (Lumia 720) is installed with a camera featuring a Carl Zeiss lens and a large aperture, providing 6.7-megapixel resolution.” It also has an autofocus and LED flash feature. The camera can also be used for video recording. It has an 8GB internal memory and 512 MB RAM. The card slot allows up to 64GB of extra memory. Connectivity-wise, features include WLAN standards IEEE 802.11 b / g / n, USB 2.0, Bluetooth 3.0 and NFC support. CNET reports, “both devices also sparks in 2G and 3G networks and allow mobile data connections thanks to HSPA with download rates of up to 21 Mbit/s.”

Verdict
The phone is a little pricey for Nokia standards that is, €379 (about $495) including taxes, according to PhoneArena.com’s report {Nokia Lumia 720 and Lumia 520 get a price tag in Germany}. Features are decent for an average phone user, but aficionados will be slightly disappointed in some aspects. Overall, the Nokia Lumia 720 is a good phone with average specifications.

This Android Or Windows Phone: Who is on back-foot? is written on Technreviews

If you are a first-time smartphone shopper or already own a smartphone looking for ways to upgrade, you may be curious about the available mobile platforms. All of us are aware of Android. But the often overlooked is the new release, Windows Phone. How to decide which is better, android or Windows Phone?

It is a big question that is difficult to answer. Both of them have their own merits and demerits. Read on to learn which is better: Android or Windows Phone?

Handsets

Android grabs the greater market share and this is evident from the number of handsets available. There are literally dozens of Android devices you can choose from whereas windows mobile handsets number to five in addition to a few more outdated versions still accumulated in the mobile stores.

The new versions of Windows Phone 8 are developed by leading companies like Nokia, HTC and Samsung who no doubt deliver high-end performance. These manufacturers never make low-quality devices.

But Android is no less in delivering high-end devices such as the great Galaxy S3 and Galaxy Note from Samsung and Google’s LG-made Nexus 4.

Android handsets are available at all price levels whereas Windows phone is a very much premium handset right now. Android handsets are really worth for what you pay. Microsoft is expected to make its handsets available at all price levels.

Verdict: the Windows phone handsets are really attractive, but if you want to choose between the two then go for Android.

Apps

According to the recent statistics, Android has gained around 700,000 apps on Google Play. But windows phone has only 100,000 apps, most of which were developed for Windows 7. Also, at the time of developing the apps for Windows phone, many of the popular apps were missed out such as BBC iPlayer, Instagram, Spotify, Bad Piggies and Temple Run.

This doesn’t mean that Android has done well but it would be better to say that Google Play has grabbed the second place after iTunes App store in the list of world’s best app stores.

Also, not all apps support all Android platforms. Some apps are tailored for tablets only. This is because new versions of smartphones get launched every now and then and it is difficult for app developers to keep pace with every flavor and will often focus on the most popular ones. But you need not worry about this as Google Play takes care of this and offers you only those apps that support your phone, and you will never feel that you are missing something.

Verdict: Android is the winner.

Upgrades and versions

Android is an open source platform where smartphone developers can use it at their convenience. This means that sometimes they are forced to use older versions of Android in order to fit lower specified devices. They also change the operating systems to fit their own styles. Whenever new versions of the software get released, the phone makers upgrade your software. Here, you are most likely to lose apps as they are updated. Sometimes you may never even receive an update.

The topper in this area is Apple. Apple has been successful in rolling out the upgrades to the latest generations of handsets. Microsoft is also making attempts in this regard. Windows Phone 8 were upgraded to all end users.

Verdict: Windows Phone is the winner.

This How to Detect Nokia Spy Software on Lumia 920 is written on Technreviews

Nokia is a cell phone manufacturer which has always been commended for its durable and quality mobile phones. As smartphones took over the world by becoming all the rage, Nokia’s mobiles took a plunge for awhile. And then Nokia teamed up with Microsoft and began producing Windows Phone. Now Nokia’s flagship devices are used worldwide and have managed to keep a significant say in the smartphone market share and are many people’s favorite choice.

And as the rest of the platforms, Nokia sets are also fallible and hence can fall prey to various problems such as malware and more hauntingly, spyware. Nokia spyware issues aren’t any less dangerous or irritating when it comes to malware professionals and other individuals out to get into your phone one way or the other. If you own a Lumia 920, you must be very happy with it, but at the end of the day the chances of it getting some Nokia Spy Software is very real. Here’s how you can detect nokia spy software whether this is the case or a figment of your tech-run imagination.

1. Strange Noises. If your set is emitting strange noises then this may be a warning bell. A lot of Nokia spy software attempts to listen in on and record live phone calls. This bugging may result in some out of noise places. There may be a lot of clicking on the phone, static sounds, or volume controls may end up getting adjusted without you being any wiser.

2. Weird Flashes. If your Nokia is lighting up for no reason then this may be another indication of spyware. This may occur randomly when the phone (according to you) is not in use. Some sorts of spyware may malfunction (if they are the amateurish kind) or are unable to stop the phone from showing incoming calls (meant to monitor your calls or activities) and result in flashes.

3. Extra Expenses. If your phone bill is just racking it up and you can’t recall making so many calls, texts or internet usage, then that means a stealth app must be at work. So if your data plan is finishing quicker than ever and your phone bills are showing excessive internet activity, then the chances of this ghost usage being a result of Nokia spy are higher than ever.

4. Battery Life. Smartphones are generally known for taking up a lot of battery and users often complain of having to charge their phones daily at best. The Lumia 920 has a good battery but even it has limits. If your phone keeps losing its battery power and can hardly make it a couple of hours, all while you are using it at a minimum, then some other software must be making use of it. Spy software archives data and then transmits it taking up power.

5. Unattended Lumia Handset. If you have left your phone unattended, for about ten minutes even, that is more than enough time for someone to get a hold of it and download/install Nokia spy software on it. If you recall leaving it somewhere or someone asking to borrow it, then take a run through with an anti-spyware program to make sure someone hasn’t left a not so nice surprise for you.

Samsung Galaxy S4 has also come up with new innovative softwares like Smart Pause, Smart Scroll, S voice drive, Optical Reader, S health, Air view, Air Gesture, WatchON and Group Play. HTC has also done some good innovations in camera, HTC Boomsound, Sense 5.0 and blinkfeed, HTC sync manager and HTC Sense TV.

This Htc One Overview Features And Price is written on Technreviews

HTC One is the new flagship smartphone from HTC and is being reviewed as taking a step further in the innovation of the smartphones. The 4.7” HD screen has an all aluminium body and runs Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS. It looks to bring back the glory of the HTC with this new device that it enjoyed with its Desire series and HTC One X.

Some of the innovative features that define HTC One are:

Ultrapixel technology camera pixel and Zoe app
Although you may be surprised to hear that HTC One has only 4 MP camera sensor, but HTC packs larger pixels so that more light can be allowed. This makes the clicks look excellent and when compared with other high end smartphones. Its low light performance is very good and only Apple iPhone5 could be comparable with it.

The ultrapixel technology has a good influence on the image quality and it can be seen as the new path wherein low sensor camera with this technology will be accepted.

The app called Zoe further enchants us with a Harry Potter experience of images. It makes the images an animated thing rather than a static image. It works by taking the pic 0.6 seconds before you click and then 3 seconds elapses after which the image is finally taken. This takes in a video sort of image which can then be run under a Video Highlights program to make a 30 second image. This video can be imported as MP4 file and stored or shared. One thing that must be remembered is that these videos will be stored only for a month and will be replaced by a recent version.

HTC Boom Sound

There are two big upgrades in the music area for HTC One. The first is the music player wherein it plays with lyrics when one is available thus helping you enjoy the music and lyrics alike.
The second is the presence of two front facing speakers and a built in amplifier as was seen in HTC 8X. This combination with Beats Audio will make for a perfect sound experience. You can play it on desk or dock and it will be seen as an advantage for youngsters who like listening to music loud.

Sense 5.0 and BlinkFeed

HTC One has changed its user interface in two ways. The first is a new Sense 5.0 which has been modified so that it looks clean and clutterfree. It makes way for the grid like experience where apps will be shown in 3×4 iteration.
The second is the BlinkFeed and it showcases the tiles as in Windows Phone. These feeds act as the instant provider of service for whatever you need. If it’s a news feed, it gives you news info. HTC has said that its working on upgrading this feed and adding more to it in future.

HTC Sync manager

It will work in a similar manner as Samsung Kies. It will help you in importing all your data including even text messages from other handsets to HTC One. This even includes an iPhone and thus will be able to lure customers in using this device.

HTC Sense TV

There is an infrared blaster on top of HTC One using which you can control your TV. It works by scanning the programs and then presents you with a thumbnail of these programs. Then you can choose a channel of your choice by taping on that particular thumbnail. This makes use of the visual features.

Operating system and Processor

It has Android OS, v4.1(Jelly Bean) OS and powered by a 1.7 GHz Krait 300 Snapdragon Quad-Core processor. It gives a super speedy performance.

Dimensions And Design

You will love the all aluminium body of HTC One which feels premium and classic to hold. It has a thickness of 9.3 mm with height and width of 137.4mm and 68.2 mm respectively.

Display Dimension and Weight

It features a Super LCD3 capacitive touchscreen which brings in the best of the whites and blacks. The color saturation is not the likes of Samsung Galaxy S3 but the display is very sharp. The edge to edge feature cannot be seen in HTC One as is seen in Motorola Razr i or Sony Xperia Z. The screen size is 4.7 inches with a high resolution of 1080×1920 pixels with 16M color depth and 469 ppi pixel density. It has multitouch features and Corning Gorilla Glass 2 protection with HTC Sense UI v5. Although HTC One weighs 143 g which is more than HTC one X but it gives a premium feel while holding in hand. It also crosses Apple iPhone5 in this which was felt as too light by many.

Camera Configuration

It has 4 MP rear camera with 1080p@30fps video recording feature and a secondary 2.1 MP front camera of 1080p@30fps. The rear camera in HTC One houses LED flash, ultrahigh pixel technology, auto focus, geo-tagging, face and smile detection. The video recording is HDR with stereo sound recording.

Internal Memory and Extendable Memory

It has an internal memory of 32/64 GB with 2 GB RAM . There is no external card slot for HTC One.

Connectivity

All the high end connectivity features are embedded in HTC One as Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n WLAN , Bluetooth v4.0 with A2DP , microUSB 2.0, EDGE and GPRS also . It has HSDPA with 4G LTE thus giving you super fast browsing speed. An infrared port is also there. NFC is dependent on market.

Power Management

There is a non-removable standard Li-Po battery of 2300 mAh . This powerhouse will ensure that HTC One runs without any trouble of recharging many times.

HTC One Price and Availability

The price of HTC One is expected around €504/$750/Rs.45000. The expected release date is by end of April.

Early verdict HTC One shows a lot of promising features with its innovative technology. We were impressed by its camera, great screen, storage of 64 GB, new music experience, ample batterylife and a lot.
If done with proper advertising and price, then HTC One will see a lot of customers for it. All in all, this is one amazing device and has many future visions involved in it.
Do share your views as to what you think of HTC One .

Here we make a gadget comparison between the Samsung Galaxy S3 and Galaxy S4. It has been replaced by a new flagship Samsung Galaxy S4 which was released recently with a lot of buzz. This was expected as Galaxy S4 is the successor of Galaxy S3 which has made history. So, supposedly we expect a lot more from Galaxy S4 so that it can truly become its successor. The specifications have come out but we have not got a chance to test Galaxy S4 ourselves. Lookwise, Galaxy S4 is almost the same with more square look to it. The display has increased to 5 inches in Galaxy S4 and it has become sleeker. On the basis of the specs, we have prepared a table listing the differences between the features for both Galaxy S3 and Galaxy S4.

Then there is “dual camera” mode where Galaxy S4 takes snap with both front and rear camera and then merges into one.

Conclusion:-

After the launch of Samsung Galaxy S4 in U.S. Samsung is looking to capitalize the U.S market and out number Apple. Last year, the iPhone5 had exceeded sales in U.S. over Galaxy S3.Galaxy S4 will be facing competition from the HTC flagship HTC One and Sony’s Xperia Z. As a true flagship, Galaxy S4 has the specifications that wowed us and it does live up to its expectations and dazzled us with its array of new features. We are more than excited when we would be able to hold it in our own hands and awaiting its release at the end of April.

This Samsung Rex 90 Price And Specifications is written on Technreviews

Samsung REX 90 is the top end phone in the range of JAVA based feature phones that was released recently. The other phones in this series are REX 80, REX 70 and REX 60. It features dual SIM with Smart dual SIM feature along with True Hot Swap.

Samsung REX 90 Review and Specifications:

We review the features of Samsung REX 90 as having 3.5 inch TFT display, 10 MB internal memory expandable upto 32 GB, 3.15 MP camera and 1000 mAh battery. The available color is white and brown in this model.

Operating system and Processor

It has proprietary Java based OS. Samsung REX 90 has 312 MHz chip and doesn’t quite compete with 1 GHz processor of Nokia Asha feature phones.

Design And Build

The design of Samsung REX 90 is similar to the Galaxy line giving it an impressive look. The chrome finish along the edges gives a premium look. The height and width are 113and 61.9 mm respectively. It has a thickness of 11.9mm thus giving a sleek look.

Display Dimension

Thescreen size is 3.5 inches with TFT full touchscreen display. The resolution isless of 320×480 pixels with 165 ppi pixel density. Thus REX 90 does not impress us with its display but its decent enough for common usage.

Camera Configuration

There is a basic camera in REX 90 of 3.15 MP. There is no LED flash or auto focus. It can be used for taking snaps here and there and takes decent pics. The timer, night mode, white balance, etc. is present in it as you would expect in any Java phone. There is video recording too. It has no secondary camera.

Internal Memory and Extendable Memory

It has very less internal memory of just 10 MB. But REX 90 does possess a microSD memory card slot with which you can expand memory upto 32 GB.

Connectivity and Dual Sim

In connectivity option, REX 90 has WiFi b/g/n, Bluetoothv3.0, microUSB 2.0, GPRS and EDGE for 2G. There is no 3G. Samsung REX 90 has hot swap too for its secondary Sim card which can be replaced without the need to remove the battery. It also has Smart Dual Sim feature in which you can receive calls from sim1 although sim2 is in use. There is the option of switching between the sim cards is also there from the home screen.

Power Management

It has a standard Li-Ion 1000 mAH battery which should be sufficient for the operations of REX 90.

Other features

The UI that runs on REX 90 is Samsung Touchwiz UI. It performs well but not very smooth. A drop down bar is also there as in present in Android which has toggles for WiFi, Bluetooth, etc.Widgets such as clock, weather, etc are also there. It has various apps such as calendar, alarm, voice recorder, download manager, etc. Ther is ChatON, Gtalk, Facebbok, Twitter, Picassa, etc. also present by default.

Samsung REX 90 Price and It’s Availability

The announcement was done in February, 2013 and REX 90 has been released in March, 2013. It is priced at Rs.6,490 or $120.

Verdict

After the above review, Samsung REX 90 comes as a good design with dual sim feature. But it lacks 3G and multitasking. The recently announced Nokia Asha 310 has also the same features as REX 90 and will be giving it a tough competition. The price factor is also under consideration as Rs.6,490 is quite high for a feature phone when we can get Android phones at the same or little more in other brands. Unless prices drop, it doesn’t seem it will be getting success.

Give Your Opinions on Samsung Rex 90 By Comment Sections
